Turks & Caicos

The Turks and Caicos has a rich history dating back to the early 1500's. Its first inhabitants were Taino Indians before Christopher Columbus discovered the islands on his way to America. In the mid 1600's Bermudan salt rakers colonized the islands and later, following the American Revolution, loyalists and their slaves settled in the islands. Since 1962, Turks & Caicos has been a British Crown Colony.

Today, the Turks and Caicos Islands remain largely unspoiled with the world's third largest coral reef system and some of the best tropical beaches, scuba diving and fishing. In addition to a growing tourism industry, the country's thriving financial services industry fuels the country's healthy economy.
