National Wine Day, Beautifully Served.

Some bottles are opened casually.
Others become part of the memory.

National Wine Day is the perfect excuse to slow down, gather a few people around the table, and open something worth talking about. Whether it’s a crisp white enjoyed seaside, a beautifully structured Cabernet shared over dinner, or a rosé poured as the sun disappears into the horizon, the right wine changes the atmosphere entirely.

This year, we’ve selected five exceptional wines from the Wine Cellar collection — each chosen not only for what’s in the bottle, but for the experience it creates around it.

And because great wine deserves the right presentation, each selection is paired with recommended RIEDEL stemware available in-store, designed to elevate every aroma, texture, and pour.

From effortless entertaining ideas to iconic producers and unforgettable bottles, here’s how we’d celebrate National Wine Day in Turks & Caicos.

The Coastal Pour

Gitton Les Echenaux Sancerre Blanc

Loire Valley, France

There’s something timeless about Sancerre.

Bright, mineral-driven, and effortlessly elegant, Gitton Les Echenaux captures everything that makes Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc one of the world’s most celebrated white wine styles. Notes of citrus, wet stone, grapefruit zest, and fresh herbs lead into a crisp, refreshing finish that feels tailor-made for warm Caribbean evenings.

Produced by the historic Gitton family estate in France’s Loire Valley, this is a wine built around precision and purity — expressive without ever feeling heavy.

For National Wine Day, we’d serve it exactly the way wines like this were meant to be enjoyed: ice-cold, poured generously, and shared outdoors with fresh seafood and good company.

Tuna Crudo with Dominican Mango & Chili Salsa
(Click here for the full recipe)

Delicate slices of fresh tuna topped with ripe Dominican mango, lime, chili, cilantro, and flaky sea salt create the perfect contrast to Sancerre’s bright acidity and mineral backbone. The citrus lifts the wine beautifully, while the tropical fruit adds just enough sweetness to balance the freshness.

Simple. Elegant. Effortless.

Shafer One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Napa Valley, California

Some wines announce themselves quietly.

Shafer’s One Point Five is one of them.

Powerful without being overwhelming, polished without losing character, this Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon captures the style that made Shafer Vineyards one of California’s most respected producers.

Founded in 1978 in the Stags Leap District, Shafer built its reputation on meticulous vineyard work, restrained winemaking, and wines designed to evolve beautifully over time. While many Napa Cabernets chase sheer intensity, Shafer has long been admired for balance, elegance, and structure — qualities that make their wines just as compelling at the dinner table as they are in a cellar.

The name One Point Five refers to the relationship between father and son, John and Doug Shafer, working “a generation and a half” side-by-side rather than one fully handing off to the next. That collaborative spirit shaped the philosophy behind this wine: classic Napa richness guided by precision and restraint.

In the glass, the 2017 vintage opens with layers of blackberry, cassis, dark cherry, cedar, cocoa, and warm spice, supported by velvety tannins and remarkable depth. It’s the kind of wine that unfolds slowly over the course of an evening.

This is not a quick pour.

It’s a wine for lingering dinners, meaningful conversations, and beautifully prepared food shared outdoors as the sun disappears over the water.

Think:
Grilled ribeye with herb butter.
Charred lamb chops.
Roasted mushrooms.
A softly lit table surrounded by friends.

Serve in the Riedel Restaurant Cabernet/Merlot stem to fully express the wine’s aromatics, texture, and layered finish.

Some bottles are opened for the occasion.

Others become the occasion.

Torrae del Sale Pinot Grigio

Veneto, Italy

Some wines are made for collecting.

Others are made for gathering people together.

Torrae del Sale Pinot Grigio belongs firmly in the second category — bright, refreshing, endlessly versatile, and perfectly suited to warm-weather entertaining.

Produced in northern Italy’s Veneto region, this style of Pinot Grigio is loved for its clean citrus profile, subtle orchard fruit, and crisp mineral finish. It’s uncomplicated in the best possible way: fresh, elegant, and incredibly easy to enjoy.

This is the bottle you chill before guests arrive.
The one that disappears faster than expected.
The one everyone asks about before the evening ends.

Its lively acidity and delicate texture make it especially perfect alongside seafood and lighter dishes — exactly the kind of food that feels at home in the Turks & Caicos.

For an effortless entertaining pairing, serve it with:

Citrus & Fresh Herb Salad with Grilled Prawns
(Click here for the full recipe)

Peppery greens, fresh herbs, grilled prawns, shaved cucumber, citrus segments, and a bright vinaigrette create a pairing that feels vibrant and relaxed without sacrificing elegance.

The wine’s crisp acidity lifts the sweetness of the prawns beautifully, while the citrus and herbs echo the Pinot Grigio’s fresh aromatics.

Serve well chilled in the Riedel Degustazione White Wine stem to highlight the wine’s freshness, delicate fruit, and clean finish.

This is easy entertaining at its best:
Sunlight still on the table.
Something sizzling on the grill.
A cold glass in hand.
No need to overcomplicate it.

Frank Family Carneros Chardonnay

Carneros, California

There’s a certain kind of Chardonnay that changes people’s minds about Chardonnay.

Frank Family’s Carneros Chardonnay is one of them.

Rich without feeling heavy, layered without becoming overly oaked, it captures the balance that has made Carneros one of California’s most celebrated Chardonnay regions. Cool coastal influence from the San Pablo Bay gives the wine freshness and precision, while careful barrel aging adds texture, warmth, and depth.

Frank Family Vineyards itself has become one of Napa Valley’s modern success stories — a producer known for combining polished winemaking with an approachable, hospitality-driven spirit. What began inside the historic Larkmead winery in Calistoga evolved into one of the region’s most respected family-owned estates, admired for wines that feel luxurious without ever becoming intimidating.

The Carneros Chardonnay opens with notes of baked apple, Meyer lemon, ripe pear, toasted vanilla, and soft baking spice, all carried by a creamy texture and lifted acidity.

This is the bottle that quietly slows the evening down.

Not flashy.
Not overly serious.
Just beautifully composed.

It’s the kind of Chardonnay that belongs beside candlelight, warm conversation, and food designed for sharing.

Think:
Fresh burrata with grilled peaches.
Butter-poached lobster.
Roasted chicken with herbs.
Or simply a beautifully arranged cheese board as the evening settles in.

Serve in the Riedel Restaurant Chardonnay stem to emphasize the wine’s layered aromatics, texture, and elegant finish.

Some wines command attention immediately.

Others earn it slowly, one sip at a time.

Clos du Temple Rosé

Languedoc, France

Some rosés are made for the beach.

Others are made to stop a table mid-conversation.

Clos du Temple belongs firmly in the second category.

Produced by Gérard Bertrand in the south of France, Clos du Temple has become one of the world’s most celebrated luxury rosés — elegant, layered, and crafted with the same seriousness often reserved for fine Champagne or Grand Cru white Burgundy.

Set high in the hills of the Languedoc near the Mediterranean, the estate takes its name from the Knights Templar, who once cultivated the surrounding lands centuries ago. Today, the vineyards are farmed biodynamically, with meticulous attention paid to every detail from vineyard to bottle.

The result is a rosé of remarkable precision and texture.

Delicate notes of wild strawberry, white peach, citrus blossom, and soft spice unfold slowly in the glass, carried by mineral freshness and incredible length. There’s richness here, but also restraint — the hallmark of truly world-class rosé.

This is not poolside rosé.

This is sunset rosé.

The kind poured as golden light fades across the terrace and dinner slowly stretches into the evening.

For entertaining, pair it with:

Chilled Lobster & Citrus Herb Butter Crostini
(Click here for the full recipe)

Sweet lobster, fresh herbs, grilled sourdough, and bright citrus create a pairing that feels luxurious while remaining effortlessly relaxed — exactly the spirit of Clos du Temple itself.

The wine’s freshness lifts the richness of the lobster beautifully, while its floral aromatics echo the herbs and citrus throughout the dish.

Serve in the Riedel Extreme Rosé/Champagne stem to highlight the wine’s delicate aromatics, texture, and layered finish.

Some bottles simply accompany the evening.

Others define it.
