Louis Jadot: A Journey Through Burgundy

For more than 165 years, Maison Louis Jadot has been one of the most respected names in French wine. From the limestone slopes of Burgundy to tables around the world, the iconic Beaune-based producer has helped define how generations of wine lovers experience Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The Story of Louis Jadot

Founded in 1859, Louis Jadot began when Louis Henry Denis Jadot acquired vineyards in Beaune's famed Clos des Ursules. Over the decades, the house expanded carefully throughout Burgundy, building relationships with growers while acquiring some of the region's most prized vineyard sites.

Today, Louis Jadot remains one of Burgundy's most recognizable names, known for expressing the character of each village, vineyard, and vintage rather than imposing a heavy winemaking style. Their philosophy is simple: let Burgundy speak for itself.

The distinctive Bacchus head that appears on every bottle has become a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship, and consistency for wine lovers around the world.

Why Burgundy Matters

Burgundy is often considered the spiritual home of both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Unlike many wine regions where blends dominate, Burgundy focuses on expressing individual vineyard sites, or terroir. A vineyard just a few hundred metres away can produce remarkably different wines due to subtle changes in soil, elevation, and exposure.

This attention to place is what makes Burgundy endlessly fascinating, and why Louis Jadot has earned such a devoted following among collectors and enthusiasts.

The Wines of the 24th Annual Jadot Cup Dinner

Guests at this year's dinner will enjoy a journey through some of Burgundy's most celebrated appellations, paired with an exceptional menu at Lua Beach House.

Beyond the wines and cuisine, the Jadot Cup has long been about giving back to the community. The annual dinner and golf tournament raise funds for the Turks & Caicos Health and Wellness Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2003 that works to improve access to healthcare and wellness services throughout the islands. Through advocacy, education, and holistic support programs, the Foundation helps address the physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being of those it serves.

With every glass poured and every ticket purchased, guests contribute to an event that supports meaningful work within the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Domaine Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé 2023

Served with Yellowtail Crudo

Produced in the southern reaches of Burgundy's Mâconnais region, Pouilly-Fuissé is known for Chardonnay that combines richness with remarkable freshness.

The Domaine Ferret estate, now part of the Louis Jadot family, is widely regarded as one of the benchmark producers of the appellation. Expect notes of citrus, white flowers, stone fruit, and mineral complexity that make it a natural partner for fresh seafood and bright flavours.

Louis Jadot Meursault 2023

Served with Blue Crab and Apple

Meursault is one of Burgundy's most celebrated white wine villages. Known for its texture and depth, it often delivers flavours of orchard fruit, toasted nuts, and subtle buttery richness while maintaining vibrant acidity.

The pairing with blue crab highlights both the wine's elegance and its ability to complement delicate, sweet seafood.

Louis Jadot Santenay 2022

Served with Wood-Roasted Rainbow Trout

Located at Burgundy's southern end of the Côte de Beaune, Santenay produces Pinot Noir with bright red fruit, gentle spice, and lively structure.

This wine's freshness and earthy undertones make it a particularly interesting match for wood-roasted fish and Mediterranean-inspired accompaniments.

Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 2023

Served with Cornish New Zealand Lamb Rack

For many Burgundy lovers, Gevrey-Chambertin represents Pinot Noir at its most classic.

Often displaying black cherry, wild berry, forest floor, and subtle spice notes, Gevrey-Chambertin is known for its depth and longevity. The richness of the lamb course provides a perfect stage for one of Burgundy's most famous villages.

Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage Port 2019

Served with Dark Chocolate Mousse

While the evening's focus is Burgundy, the finale turns to Portugal with one of the world's great fortified wine producers.
